General Meeting!

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

The last day of September is also the last Wednesday of the month which means it’s time for our first general meeting of the semester! Swing by Community Art Night/First General Meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 31 to learn about Art Club and vote/have your voice heard!

Exciting!

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

Excitingly, our budget passed! We will be able to offer 4 classes, still stock the studio, buy christmas lights for permanent installation, work with the Norristown Arts Collective, fund student-run workshops, and still run events! (as well as miscellaneous other reasons to need money)

Most importantly, Community Art Night is in swing on Wednesdays at 8-10pm.

’09-’10: A New Year

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

Art Club has an exciting fall semester planned!

The studio will soon be open and accessible to the Bryn Mawr Community!

We’re currently in the process of interviewing local artists to figure out what classes we’re offering this semester. There’re some interesting proposals on the table from paper making to sewing and others. We’re hoping to offer several choices this semester so hopefully you’ll be interested!

We do have a new Exec board. Some old faces, some new:

Anna LM will be joined by Ariel to be our presidents.

Angela continues as our vice president.

Angana joins us as our publicist.

Louisa is our new treasurer.

Adrienne is now our Community Outreach Coordinator!

and Teresa continues as webmistress.

So leave some time in your schedule for art!

Summer Access!

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

Will you be on campus for the summer? A little underwhelmed by the choices of entertainment on an empty campus?
The Arnecliffe Art Studio will be available this summer with a slightly reduced supply stock.

The studio is available for all members of the Bryn Mawr community, but please note that while you are free to use all communal materials in the studio, materials are not to be removed.

If you have any questions, please contact Sarah Elichko (selichko[at]gmail) or Adrienne Webb (awebb01[at]bmc) who will be looking after the studio for the summer.

Books Arts

Friday, May 8th, 2009

For 10 weeks this semester, the studio was taken over on Wednesday nights for Book Arts classes run by a local artist, Michelle Wilson (find her at www.inliquid.com).  Here are some pictures of the results from her advanced class!

Thanks Michelle!
